Why we might take a short while to respond…

Important Message:

+++++UPDATE JANUARY 2019: Firstly, thank you for all the lovely messages from past/current clients, and friends – and flowers and gifts! Your kindness has been overwhelming. So, a brief update on Ruth (co-Director of Crown Lane -and yes, my wife). The initial chemotherapy over the summer hasn’t worked as hoped, so the radiotherapy has been stopped because on it’s own it is ineffective. Ruth is now back under the care of St George’s under a different chemotherapy regime followed by stem cell treatment. We can’t thank St George’s enough for what they are doing to get our Ruth well again.

The studio is the family’s sole business, and as such we’ve got a pretty robust plan with additional support to ensure no gaps appear during this period. Bill is undertaking much of the engineering, my brother Phil and I (John) will ensure the administration side continues. All rehearsals are running as always , and are only bookable online. +++++UPDATE DECEMBER 2018: Ruth has now finished the chemotherapy, which was in part successful. We are hopeful of full cure from radiotherapy during December and January. +++++

2018 has been a year of celebration: turning 10; invited to Downing Street; being one of the top 100 Small Businesses in the UK and recording some great music. It has also been one of our hardest.

Being a family business, when one person suffers, we all suffer, and currently, Ruth (co-director) is completely out of action –  undergoing chemotherapy for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (Started July 2018). This will be a tough, long and tiring journey for Ruth, but one we are hopeful of ending in full recovery.

While Ruth is out of action, the business does not have phone support, nor do we have anyone keeping the business running from an administrative and finance perspective. However this does not mean we don’t want your custom. Far from it. Being our family’s only business, it is more important than ever that we are able to maintain (as much as is possible) ‘business as usual’, but with the caveat that we ask you to show us grace when we don’t get call back immediately, or when invoices take a little longer to arrive, or an email isn’t responded to as quickly as we would normally like to.

This is not a message I want to write, as in most cases, businesses want to pretend everything is always perfect, but we believe in running an integrity filled business, so want to be honest from the outset.

I will update this page as and when things change – and encouraging messages for Ruth I will certainly pass on – she will be missing life at the studio – and many of you – that is certain!

So if you would like to get in touch – hopefully about recording, rehearsing or mastering – please do – by using the contact us page – and the message will come to me, and I will deal with it as soon as I am able.

Thank you for your continued custom and friendship during this season; Bill and I can’t wait to work with you on your project in in the near future.

All the very best,

Crown Lane Productions Ltd.
