The Survival Code

London Based Rock Band

EP Recording, Studio-based

When the time is right – and we are confident of of achieving and exceeding the brief – we enjoy venturing outside our focus areas, and challenging ourselves. The guys in The Survival Code, having produced their 2015 album here, returned for the creation of their EP – Broken Strings.

Being regularly played on Kerrang Radio and compared in many reviews to Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters – this next release meant pulling out the ‘rock toolbox’ and treating our ears to some rock perfection. Where our regular jazz and folk is organic, The Survival Code are Germanic in their engineering. Precision drumming, inspires even more clinical editing, and obligatory triggering where necessary to our 13 microphone drum set up.

All guitars were recorded through Gary’s tasty heads – and on this occasion very little was double tracked or layered as they wanted a more true to live sound for this release. Vocals recorded once again through the Shure SM7 and Neve channel strip.
